Our child safeguarding commitment
Association Tabitha Dorcas works with children in vulnerable situations, including in matters of justice and detention. Their safety, privacy and dignity come before everything else we do. This page sets out how we protect the children in our care.

Our principles
Safety first
The best interests and safety of the child guide every decision we make, in every program.
Privacy & identity
We protect children's identities. Where a child could be identified, we use pseudonyms, withhold identifying details, or use blurred or symbolic images.
Informed consent
Photographs and stories are shared only with the informed consent of the child and their parent or guardian, and consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Dignity, not pity
We tell children's stories with dignity and respect, focusing on resilience and hope. We never use sensationalist or degrading imagery.
How we use images and stories
Every photo and story we publish is handled with care and only with the appropriate consent and ethical clearance.
- Consent is obtained from the child and their parent or guardian before publication.
- We avoid sharing full names, exact locations or other details that could identify or endanger a child.
- Anyone can ask us to remove an image or story at any time, and we will act promptly.
Our people
Everyone who works or volunteers with Association Tabitha Dorcas is expected to understand and uphold this commitment. We take every concern for a child's wellbeing seriously and act on it quickly.
